What We Did To Celebrate 10 Years of Marital Bliss…

So, after I wrote that heartfelt post about our 10th anniversary last Friday, I’ll bet you wondered what we did to celebrate, right?

Okay, maybe you didn’t give it another thought but humor me anyway.

Hold on to your hats people because this is impressive! In fact, I’ll bet you’ve never heard of a 10th anniversary celebration as fantastic as this one was.

A giant pile of dirt was delivered.

I’m not kidding.

Our anniversary celebration was…how shall I say? Delayed.

Besides, you’d have to be a real asshole if you didn’t enjoy a giant pile of rocks, weeds and dirt.

  1. Dirt? It wasn’t even screened dirt! WTF?

Where was it taken from, a neighbor’s lawn?

  2. Isn’t the 10th Anniversary supposed to be gold or paper or something?
Believe it or not Kelli I have a similar dirt pile next to my garage.

    • Lucky, aren’t we? I’m not sure what the 10th Anniversary is, but I do know that it isn’t DIRT.

      • Well, we spent our 10th (last October) at a dear friend’s wake, crying our eyes out. So I would have to say…..I would rather have had a pile of dirt delivered. ♥ Besides, your dirt pile will just make the 11th anniversary that much more intrigueing!!! Let’s face it….it most likely won’t be any less exciting than that!!! 😉

  3. Yeah….what the heck kind of dirt pile is that???? Poor Kelli…

  4. I figured you’d have something dirty planned for your anniversary, but I didn’t think you’d be so darned literal about it.

  5. Kelli,
In this day and age.. Dirt IS gold!! 🙂

  6. Haha! My husband and I will have our 10th anniversary in October. He asked me if I wanted to do anything, and I said, “what do you mean?” I’m not very romantic, I guess, so the dirt pile looks good to me 😉

  7. Honestly, that dirt looks pretty appealing right now based on the state of our backyard.
I guess that’s a comment that screams “I’m an adult now!”.
Hopefully you are able to celebrate in less dirty (or perhaps more?) ways later!

  8. Is that a tag I see, one that goes to plants to let you know what they are? Please tell me it says “Dirt Plant,” because that’s all I see!

  9. hehehe… you could have at least put a bow on top of the pile or something 🙂

  10. Lisa Steele says:

For our 15-yr anniversary we changed our hot water tank in our smelly, old house cellar! Talk about romantic! I figured since we stayed married after working together it was a good thing.

  11. Wow…and such a nice pile of dirt, too…

  12. I have to say, that’s a shitty looking pile of dirt. Is that the best dirt he could find for 10 years of marriage?
